Puerto Rican Gothic is a project dedicated to exploring and honoring the darker aspects of Caribbean and Latin American culture. We understand and embrace the goth as a global phenomenon that finds beauty in the shadows, the occult, and the mysteries of life. It is by exploring these aspects of our culture that we can better understand how Caribbean and Latin American communities confront and interpret profound themes such as death, violence, and colonialism. By delving into these darker elements, we uncover the threads of resistance, sorrow, and resilience that connect us. Our project seeks to celebrate these cultural nuances, revealing the richness and depth of our shared heritage.

It is important to understand that when we refer to the word "occult," we are referencing practices and worldviews that exist outside mainstream norms. Puerto Rican Gothic is committed to documenting and sharing the rich history of magic, urban legends, myths, dark history, and occult practices across the Caribbean and Latin America. Our goal is to preserve these traditions for future generations and foster a dialogue that allows us to confront and explore the diverse ways our ancestors and contemporaries have perceived and reacted to the world around them. Through this exploration, we aim to honor and carry forward their legacy.
